Bible Reading and Bible Reflection--Nehemiah 8

Key Ideas

The chapter is divided into two sections, signaled by time references [when the seventh month had come (7:73)...on the second day (8:13)]. The first part (8:1-12) focuses on large chunk reading of Scripture in a very large group and the second part (13-18) on smaller chunk study in a much smaller group.

Weekly Questions
  • What does each passage say?
  • What does each passage mean?
  • What does each passage teach us about spiritual discipline?

Rev 3. reading and reflection combined, 12/10
Rev 2. passage change, 12/9

December 9, 16, and 23 TNBS will take a short break from the study of Isaiah to dig into some spiritual disciplines:

  2. Prayer, Daniel 9 (mp3)
  3. Giving, 2 Corinthians 9 (mp3)

Our task on these three Tuesdays will be to understand the meaning of the passage and then discover what we can learn about each discipline the appropriate passage.
