James 2:1-26
Say: What did James intend to say to his original readers?
(Resources: grammar, backgrounds, flow of thought, word use, literary allusions)
Mean: What is the Key Idea?
(Resources: brain, prayer, checking what others think)
Do: How should we respond?
(Resources: culture, current issues, personal life, church life, etc. + the Key Idea)
Helpful article on bible study: Studying the Scriptures by Kenneth Boa
NOTE: Laura is swamped with here way-too-soon-due thesis. Not sure if prose commentary will be added at all this week. I'll not be posting my key idea* until after our discussion Tuesday. Write your own!
As always, feel free to discuss in the comments.
* If you want to know what a Key Idea might look like, check previous weeks, BUT don't feel pressured to conform.
